We know that speaking to your doctor can sometimes feel stressful, and new technology can raise questions. That’s why we want to let you know about a helpful new tool your clinician (e.g. GP, Pharmacist or Paramedic) will soon be using, known as a ‘scribe’. The Scribe uses ambient voice technology to listen and accurately generate notes, referral letters and clinical coding.
This will save administration time for clinicians during your appointment, so they can focus on providing better consultation quality with every patient.
What is a scribe?
A scribe listens to the medical parts of your chat with your clinician (e.g. GP, Pharmacist or Paramedic) and turns them into clear, secure notes. This means your clinician can give you their full attention, knowing your care details are recorded accurately. Don’t worry, only information that’s relevant to your health is captured.
Will anything change for me?
No, your appointment will feel just like usual. The technology supports your clinician quietly in the background; you may not even notice it’s there.
Is my information safe?
Absolutely. Your privacy is extremely important to us. Our new ‘scribe’ follows all UK data protection laws, including GDPR. Your personal information remains secure and confidential at all times.
What if I don’t want your clinician to use the tool?
If you’re not comfortable with the use of a Scribe during your appointment, let the clinician know and ask them not to use it.
If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to a member of our practice team.
