Accessing Emergency Contraception

The most effective method of emergency contraception is the intrauterine device (copper coil). This must be fitted within 5 days of having unprotected sex, or up to 5 days after you ovulate. It can remain as your regular method of contraception. Please contact the surgery via the telephone or by using the following link: https://beaconmedicalgroup.webgp.com/react-consult-general-advice?codeName=GEC_GEN#EC

The emergency contraceptive pill (morning after pill) can be bought online or over the counter from most pharmacies. The morning after pill is provided free to women under 25 years via your local pharmacy.
