Virtual Appointments

Virtual Appointments

Beacon Medical Group has launched a new service offering evening appointments to our patients.

As part of our commitment to improving access to our patients, Beacon Medical Group have partnered with Doctor Care Anywhere to offer virtual NHS appointments. This new service gives Beacon patients the convenience of seeing a GP without having to visit a practice. From the comfort of your own home you simply log on to the Doctor Care Anywhere website for your appointment and speak to an experienced NHS doctor.

These appointments will initially be available in the evenings on Monday to Thursday and Saturday morning. To use the service, you need to be a registered patient at one of Beacon’s practices and have access to a smart phone, tablet or computer. You then:

  1. Click on the link above to access the Doctor Care Anywhere NHS website
  2. Click on Sign Up and create a profile
  3. Download the Doctor Care Anywhere app for your phone or tablet
  4. On either the app or the website you can then book appointments and have your consultation with a GP

Ten minutes before your scheduled appointment, you’ll get an email and text reminder about your forthcoming appointment.

Doctor Care Anywhere has been providing virtual consultations for five years and is one of the UK’s leading providers of telemedicine. If you have any questions about the service or need help with either the sign-up process or booking appointments, please email (contactus@doctorcareanywhere.com) or call (0330 057 1805) their Patient Support team directly.

Please note Doctor Care Anywhere is not an emergency service and should not be used for medical emergencies. Virtual consultation may not be suitable for all patients. If you are booking an appointment for an infant, or you have a condition that is likely to require a physical examination, it is best to arrange to see your GP by phoning your practice. For a full list of what virtual consultations are best suited for, please visit the Doctor Care Anywhere website.
